My Appearance on Radio GoDaddy with CEO Bob Parsons. Blog Marketing for Business was discussed on the podcast.

Godaddy.com CEO Bob Parsons and Rodney Rumford Discuss Blog Marketing on the Podcast Radio ShowI was recently approached to be on the Radio GoDaddy.com Radio and Podcast show. I was thrilled to say the least. Bob Parsons is the CEO of GoDaddy.com and he has a great business Blog and a great Podcast.

Bob Parsons happens to have the most popular CEO Blog on the internet. Part of the reason for the success of his business blog is the fact that he is totally transparent in his thoughts. He writes what he thinks and is not overly concerned about controversy. He is brutally honest and that is what makes his business blog great.

His writing style is really eangaging and his positions are backed by logical thoughts and opinions. He has really embraced new media technologies such as blogs and podcasts as a sales and marketing tool for his company.

My Radio appearance on "Life Online" with CEO Bob Parsons and his co-host Nima Jones was great. We talked about how business can use business blogs for marketing, sales, lead generation, branding, etc.

Here is my favorite quote from Bob "Business will have to have a business blog within 6 months as a business requirement…." that is paraphrased a bit…but that was his point.

The only bummer was that we actually could have talked for over an hour on this subject but my segment on the show was a lot shorter than that. Hopefully they will have me back on the show again in the near future to talk about business blogging and business podcasting.

You can listen to the April 5 show. My segment starts at minute 59. Happy Listening, you will learn more about business blogging and blog marketing. Oh yea, as a side note, we use GoDaddy.com for almost all of our domain name requirements.

Final part of a five part series on Getting Quality Blog TrafficRule #5- Blog Configuration

The truth is, none of these are hard and fast rules.

They’re just guidelines that I have the tendency to crack the whip with when it comes to my clients. This is after a couple of years of fine tuning and testing on myself, proving what I could do, and then documenting and duplicating the process.

The top four rules matter a great deal, but this last one is the one I have them focus on first. If you use the right blog platform, and your blog is set up correctly for your business, you can let the blog itself take a good chunk of the traffic burden off your shoulders.

Part four of a five part series on Quality Blog TrafficRule #4 - Blog conversationally

The one thing any other blog in the world doesn’t have is you. If you can talk and you can type, you can blog. You don’t need to be a great writer, and no one is checking what you end your sentences with.

What people want is someone they can dialogue with on a topic that interests them - just in this case it happens to be a conversation on-screen and in public, rather than the semi-privacy of your office or storefront.

And remember. Blogging is a two-way conversation. Listen to your readers, not just in what they’re posting in your comments area, but which posts they read more.
